Trip to Caramoan 2009

My sister and I have planned this trip for a while now to first to celebrate our Dad's birthday and second to grant the wish of our parents to come and visit them in our home in the Province. The original plan was to enjoy the beach, Island hop in Caramoan, and go Wake Boarding in CWC for the last day. Unfortunately due to work related constraints, my sister and company was not able to come, and my girl and I decided to continue with the plan.

The Plan: Caramoan Island hopping and CWC Wake Boarding

How to get there: Drive to Bicol (my parents house) then scout for the cheapest and fastest way to Caramoan (budget traveling as usual). Lastly drive to CWC for the Wake Boarding experience.

Day 1 - After an eight hour drive from Manila to Goa, Camarines Sur we went scouting for how to get to Caramoan since we did not go for the packages that the internet offered.

Day 2 - We had to ride the Boat from Sabang Beach/Port to Caramoan which I discovered to be a Town and not the Beach I expected. From there we asked around (actually my Mom who is very friendly) for which islands/beaches are the best to go to. We wasted no time as after arriving to Villa Juliana (the resort we stayed at), we went directly to Bical port to rent a boat. Our destination: 2 beaches in the west side which will take 1.5 hours via boat to get to the 1st beach: Covitas Beach the best beach as per the people near the area. This beach was comparable to the Snake Beach back in Palawan as it has a submerging white sand beach extension which looked like a snake cutting the beach in half. Beach number 2 in the list was a 15 minute boat ride to Manlawi Beach which was said to have a pinkish sand and as it turns out one of the islands which participated in the Survivor Brazil taping. After which we went back (2 hour boat ride) to the resort.

Day 3 - We had a busy schedule for day 3 since we have planned to enjoy 4 Beaches. We visited Lahuz, Honongan, Matucad, and Kadiis. All beaches were very interesting and very natural with no one living in the islands. Our boat master also took us to the top of Matucad where we had to scale very sharp marmol like rocks which over looked the left side of the Beach.

Day 4 - We went back home to Goa and tasted the fresh chocolate flavored cow milk which I had a couple of glasses upsetting my stomach. This did not stop me however in visiting the best cable park in the world (as per wake board rider interviews). Camsur Watersports Complex or CWC was a haven for Wake boarders. Compared to the cable park I've been to, this definitely is the best. And most fortunately it was day 1 of the World Wake Rider Championship! Took some pictures and rested as for tomorrow is the day we (or should I say I) drive back to Manila.
